“ A rare combination of technical wizardry and interpretive adventurousness”

- Eric McIntyre, Music Director CIS

An adventurous soul and performer, Caleb Hans Polashek has continued to push the boundaries of what is possible for him and the violin. His original music has been likened to Paganini’s Caprices by Peter Bay, Music Director and Conductor of the Austin Symphony Orchestra! Caleb is pleased to share that his premiere album features a vast array of techniques, sounds, and musical ideas that seek a deeper understanding of harmony and sound. His family, teachers, and colleagues as well as vast ensemble experience has helped him achieve a high level of performance practice, while his worldly experience encouraged him to be creative on his own. His highly polished original album Illumination is available on CD, vinyl, and digitally here .

Caleb Hans recently completed his first tour performing his original music to enchanted audiences, with video featuring his performances coming soon to his youtube channel.

The Meridian, a unique and characterful performance venue, is a charming market and coffee/beverage shop lovingly curated in the heart of the growing community of Buda south of Austin. The following venue, The Art Lounge SPI, played host and embodies the island spirit as the most creative art gallery on South Padre Island. The works within included spectacular local artists and art!

" A rare combination of technical wizardry and interpretive adventurousness"  as credited by Eric McIntyre of the Central Iowa Symphony. Caleb Hans Polashek  has served as guest soloist and concertmaster on numerous occasions with the local ensemble. As soloist he recently returned with the fiery and challenging “Devil’s Trill” and “Dance of the Goblins”, the latter of which can be found on his YouTube channel. Other performances as soloist included the monumental Brahms Violin Concerto, (complete with an original cadenza!), and the concertos of Barber and Khachaturian. Caleb has performed the virtuoso work Sarasate’s Zigeunerweisen with multiple ensembles. He enjoys sharing his hard work with or without accompaniment.

Polashek joined the violin section of the Austin Symphony Orchestra in 2012 and quickly earned tenure, becoming the then-youngest tenured member of the orchestra. He later performed with the principal string players of ASO and regularly appeared with Artisan Quartet in and around Austin, TX. Caleb Hans Polashek's first original string quartet composition, titled "The Drive", was debuted with AQ at BMW of Austin in the fall of 2019.

Accomplished in a variety of musical styles, Caleb has appeared on stage with such artists as Andrea Bocelli, Christopher Cross, Weezer, and others. He has performed in most major Austin venues, including but not limited to The Paramount, Austin City Limits, Dell Concert Hall, and now absent Frank Erwin Center. His specialized violin work has been featured on numerous recordings in classical, rock, blues, funk, and other genres. Credit on albums include joining Grammy Award Winning Conspirare on their Grammy-nominated album “Hope of Loving”. His previous work included electric violin work with the alternative rock band Nautical Nation.

Caleb Hans Polashek studied with Brian Lewis, Julie Fox Henson, in masterclasses with Anne Akiko Meyers and David Kim, and at festivals with members of the Miro Quartet, Pacifica Quartet, and many other highly accomplished musicians. He thanks them all for their knowledge and constructive encouragement. He presently teaches a handful of students, hoping to share his knowledge and further bring harmony to the world.
